HADRIANS WALL AND THE SCOTTISH BORDERS - 3 DAY TOUR
This 3 day (2 night) tour is perfect for those who want to visit the 2,000 year old Hadrians Wall, the North West frontier of the Roman empire for nearly 300 years, as well as the picturesque rolling landscapes and villages of the Scottish Borders. You will also have the opportunity to visit the world famous 15th Century Rosslyn Chapel as featured in the Da Vinci Code. There will be a full day to explore Hadrians Wall including the impressive Vindolanda and Roman Army Museum. You will also have the opportunity to walk a small part of the wall around Steel Rigg, which has some of its most spectacular viewpoints. We will then return north through the beautiful landscapes of the Northumberland National Park and Scottish Borders, including stops at Jedburgh Abbey, the impressive Floors Castle and Gardens and the option of visiting Glenkinchie lowland distillery before our return to Edinburgh.
Your accommodations include a night in the historic market town of Brampton, your second night will be in the picturesque village of Wark in Northumberland. Both nights are at very comfortable and cosy traditional Inns with good restaurants, well located close to Hadrians Wall.
